High-Performance Materials – Functionally Engineered, Precisely Manufactured.

Dunmore is known for high-performance materials that perform under pressure. We develop flexible material systems for applications where temperatures are extreme, barriers must hold, and every milligram counts.
Dunmore enhances a wide variety of substrates—such as films, paper, nonwovens, fabrics, and foam—to create functional material systems. Depending on the requirements, substrates are coated, metallized, laminated, split, or finished. What matters most is not the individual raw material, but the interplay between the substrate, the layer structure, the function, and the customer’s subsequent process.

PET, PE, PP, PA, PI, and PEEK form the basis for coated, metallized, and laminated high-performance materials. Depending on the material and application, film thicknesses starting at 6 µm are possible. Materials thicker than 300 µm are also processed, including foams and PV films. Based on current data, the maximum web width is up to 2,450 mm.

Paper-based barrier solutions can reduce the penetration of grease, moisture, and oxygen while meeting the requirements of the packaging process. Dunmore develops paper coatings for food, non-food, and household applications. Through co-development, the barrier properties, printability, sealability, and recyclability of the overall structure are evaluated together. This creates a solid foundation for Design for Recycling and compliance with PPWR requirements.

Nonwovens and fabrics can be combined with films, metallized layers, and functional coatings. Typical requirements include insulation, thermal and moisture management, protection, tactile properties, or acoustics. Dunmore processes purchased nonwovens and fabrics into custom composite materials. Nonwovens with sustainable properties may be an option, depending on the raw materials and construction. Their specific suitability is evaluated for each application.

We combine foams with films, nonwovens, and fabrics to create functional laminates. This results in lightweight composite materials designed for protection, insulation, a specific tactile feel, and sophisticated further processing. Controlled winding tension helps prevent pressure marks and permanent deformation. The specific material thickness and layer structure are determined by the desired function and the customer’s manufacturing process.

Every high-performance material begins with a specific requirement: What function must the material fulfill? Which substrates, layer structures, and processes are suitable? Dunmore guides you through this process, from the initial requirements profile all the way to reproducible mass production. Coating, metallization, lamination, and assembly are developed not as individual steps, but as a coordinated process chain.
