Web widths up to 2,500 mm
Processing and manufacturing using wide web widths to meet industrial requirements and ensure stable production processes.
For development, scale-up, and mass production in roll-to-roll coating.

You provide the substrate; we add the functionality. We handle individual process steps or complete production chains in coating, metallization, lamination, and assembly for customers who outsource manufacturing capacity, specialized technology, or process expertise.
If you lack the necessary equipment, are operating at full capacity, or if a process step is too technically demanding for your own production, we can assist you with contract manufacturing at our facility in Freiburg, Germany.
Contract coating of plastics is one of the most common applications: PET, PP, PE, PI, or PA films are coated with a primer, topcoat, barrier layer, release coating, or functional coating. PTFE contract coating for chemically resistant or non-stick surfaces is also available, as is PVD contract coating for metallized functional layers made of aluminum, copper, or tin.

Processing and manufacturing using wide web widths to meet industrial requirements and ensure stable production processes.
Coating thickness, viscosity, web tension, and surface energy are continuously monitored. Coating weights ranging from 0.5 to 40 g/m² can be adjusted with consistent results.
Dunmore Europe is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018 and meets the highest standards for quality assurance and energy efficiency.
Coating, metallization, lamination, and assembly are all integrated at the Freiburg facility—there is no loss of efficiency at the interfaces between process steps.
Contract manufacturing is particularly in demand when specialized processes, production capacity, or process expertise cannot be developed in-house. Dunmore Europe supplies customers in the packaging, aerospace, medical technology, automotive, and other industries where technical film systems are required.
Please let us know your substrate, the desired function, and the planned quantity range. We will assess the technical feasibility and get back to you with a specific evaluation.

Contract coating refers to the outsourcing of a coating process to an external service provider, who applies a defined functional layer to the substrate supplied by the client. It is worthwhile when a company lacks its own equipment or when its equipment is operating at full capacity, when a process such as PVD metallization or PTFE coating requires specialized equipment, or when development projects are to be tested initially in small quantities. Dunmore Europe handles individual process steps as well as complete processing chains, including lamination and assembly.
Dunmore Europe provides contract processing services for a wide range of plastic films, including PET, PP, PE, PA, PEEK, and PI, as well as paper, nonwovens, membranes, and foams. Contract coating of plastics is a key application in this regard. At the Freiburg facility, film thicknesses ranging from 12 to 300 µm and web widths up to 2,450 mm are supported. Other thicknesses and substrates can be evaluated depending on the material and process requirements.
PLA films are also generally of interest as a bio-based substrate. Whether Dunmore can process and coat them is currently under technical review and must be confirmed before any statement can be made. Whether a specific substrate is suitable depends, among other things, on surface energy, dimensional stability, temperature resistance, and the desired coating system. This is evaluated technically in advance.
Yes. Contract PTFE coating is used for applications that require non-stick properties, chemical resistance, or temperature stability on a flexible substrate. Typical applications include technical release films, process protection films, and specialized applications in the medical and food processing industries. The process begins with clarifying the requirements: substrate, desired function, quantity range, and quality criteria. Dunmore assesses technical feasibility, discusses the coating system and process parameters, and prepares a quote. Once the order is placed, the customer’s material is delivered, processed, and inspected. It is returned in the agreed-upon format—as a wide roll, narrow roll, or cut-to-size finished product. For more complex requirements, samples and test runs can be conducted beforehand.
